With each raid I felt a twisted satisfaction. What began as increased patrols and a justified crackdown soon slipped into misconduct. I manipulated evidence and crime scenes, and let operations become vehicles for my revenge. The excitement and adrenaline blinded me — every arrest felt like progress toward avenging Amos. Putting an end to my misery. Clarkey's misery, and the pain and torture in all of our hearts for a lost brother in arms.
